Trump invites Senegal to US–Africa summit
Senegalese President Bassiro Diomay Faye will take part in the #USA–#Africa summit, which will be held from July 9 to 11 in Washington at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
The summit will be attended by five African leaders:
— Bassiro Diomay Fai (#Senegal )
— Joseph Boakai (#Liberia )
— Breeze Clotaire Oligi Nguema (#Gabon )
— Mohamed Ould Ghazouani (#Mauritania )
— Oumaru Sissoku Embalo (Guinea-Bissau)
This is Trump's first major African initiative since returning to the White House in January 2025. In the last term (2017-2021), he did not make a single visit to the continent.
The topics of the event are economics, security, geopolitics and attracting private investment.
Goal: to strengthen a mutually beneficial partnership.
